North Wilts GC is proud to promote Junior Golf and is recognised as a high achieving English Golf Union GOLFMARK club. The Club visits local schools taking the message that golf is fun and can be enjoyed by everyone. Recently North Wilts hosted a Tri-Golf Festival for 96 primary school pupils
Junior coaching sessions are held at the Golf club every Saturday morning. The sessions are run by June Poffley and a team of enthusiastic volunteers all of whom are PGA qualified and CRB registered.
In addition to the coaching provided by June and the team, the young people receive pro-tips from resident PGA teaching professional, Barry Forster.
The Club welcomes youngsters aged from 5 to 15 - no pre-booking is required and the club provides all the necessary equipment to ensure a fun time is had by everyone.
A 'girls only' session has been especially successful with 10 to 12 girls attending each Saturday
John Spiller - the Club Chairman says "it is vital that we encourage junior golf as these young people are the future of golf in the County. At a time when many young people are criticised for engaging in anti-social behaviour, we can justifiably point with pride to our juniors and congratulate them on the way in which they conduct themselves on and off the golf course"
